Hope Conference | WYD Re-union July 2009

Come to an awesome 4 day conference for young people aged 15 – 35. For those who went to WYD: reunite with old friends, for those that missed out: come & enjoy the WYD vibe & meet new friends. Live music, great speakers, Eucharist, worship, games, free giveaways, workshops and much more!

Archbishop Hickey, Bishop Sproxton, Fr Thai Vu, Fr Tim Deeter, Perth CYM team, Young Vinnies, Respect Life Office, Caritas, Tom Gourlay, Michael Connelly, Missionaries of God’s Love Sisters (MGL) and much more…

There will be workshops on Christian Dating 101, art workshops, fire twirling sisters, Be More campaign and heaps of other fun to be had!

Sunday Sesh July 2009
Come along for a Youth Mass and a formation session afterwards (or attend your parish Mass & join us just for the formation). The night includes: music, activities, a guest speaker, prayer time & group discussions. Check out the events calendar for the latest Sunday Sesh locations. This months topic: You got to pray just to make it today! with Norma Woodcock.

12th July: Mass @ 6pm, Sunday Sesh @ 7.15pm. Venue: Notre Dame Parish, Cloverdale (Sesh 5)

19th July: Mass @ 5.30pm, Sunday Sesh @ 6.45pm. Venue: All Saints Parish, Greenwood (Sesh 5 repeat)

July Message:

This is an amazing month of memories – we just celebrated the one year anniversary of the WYD Cross and Icon’s visit to the Archdiocese of Perth, now we prepare for our one year celebrations of Days in the Diocese and World Youth Day. What better way to do this than with the HOPE conference! Bring your pilgrim group or others who could get to WYD along to celebrate this wonderful anniversary. I wanted to leave you with a section of The Holy Father’s message from WYD08. “Dear young people, let me now ask you a question:

What will you leave to the next generation? Are you building your lives on firm foundations, building something that will endure? Are you living your lives in a way that opens up space for the Spirit in the midst of a world that wants to forget God, or even rejects him in the name of a falsely‐conceived freedom? How are you using the gifts you have been given, the “power” which the Holy Spirit is even now prepared to release within you? What legacy will you leave to young people yet to come?
What difference will you make?”
